Upcoming events Sept-Oct

Hello friends! Hard to believe it’s fall already. I’m here on the West Coast where much of it is engulfed in flames and smoke. I am safe but many are not. Here are two mutual aid efforts in my area: Mask Oakland, a group that distributes free masks, and a volunteer effort organized by Tracey Corder that provides free air purifiers to people in Oakland. Support them if you can or find other efforts in Washington, Oregon, & California. Below is a list of upcoming online book events and a new digital issue that I guest edited on disability visibility.

Break The Story Volume IV: Disability Visibility

[A background and border made of bright colors in geometric shapes. On the left is a black and white photo of 3 disabled people of color, including one person in a power chair, in the center is a larger photo of an Asian American disabled woman with a mask over her nose attached to a tube, on the right is a group of disabled people, including one person in a cane with their arms out as if in a performance or dance]

I had a lot of fun as the guest editor for Break The Story Volume IV, a publication by the Pop Culture Collaborative presenting a snapshot of disability culture. Check out all the great articles & interviews featuring d/Deaf and disabled people!
